What is the Qatar ID?

It refers to the Qatari national identity card, which is issued by the Qatari government to its citizens, as well as to foreigners who intend to settle in the country.

The first digit is assigned according to the year of birth. So, if you are a person born between 1900 and 1999 the first number assigned to your Qatar ID will be 2. If you are a person born after 2000 the first number assigned to your Qatar ID will be 3.

The second and third digits represent the last two numbers of your birth year.

The fourth, fifth and sixth digits represent the ISO code of your country.

The last 5 digits will represent the number of Qataris born in your year of birth.

Who can apply for a Qatar id?

All persons (both children and adults) who intend to stay in Qatar for one year or more must apply for a Qatari ID.

In the case of persons who have been hired by a company to perform a specific job, the employer is usually responsible for processing the identity card; for this reason, Qatar provides to foreign employees a three-month visa upon their arrival in Qatar so that they can have the necessary time to apply for a Qatar ID.

Once a person has their Qatari ID, they may have the opportunity to sponsor a member of their family. In this instance, the person will have to take care of this procedure itself.

Qatar ID check by QID number

The first thing you need to do is to log in to the Qatari Ministry of Interior website.

Once you are in, the next thing you will need to do is to enter your QID number in the box available on the page.

Then enter the captcha and click on the Search button.

If no results are generated it is probably because you entered one of the QID numbers incorrectly.

If so, correct this and try again. If correct, the status of your Qatari ID should be displayed on the screen.

Qatar ID check by passport number

To check your Qatari ID card with this information you should do the following:

Enter the Qatar ID verification page of the Ministry of Interior.

Then click on the Passport number option to check your Qatar ID by passport number.

Enter your passport number in the appropriate box.

Once you have done this, click on the drop-down menu and choose your nationality.

Finally click on the Search button to have the data processed so that the data associated with your Qatari ID card is displayed on the screen.

Another way to check your Qatar ID is by using an application called Metrash2, which has been designed to give you access to a digital version of different documents, including the Qatari ID card.

All you will need to do is install Metrash2 on your iOS or Android smartphone, open the application to launch its interface and then locate the Wallet section in the top corner of the screen to access the digital copy of your Qatar ID.

How long does it take to obtain a QID?

Once you have completed the process of processing your Qatar ID it may take between 2 to 4 days for it to be issued, which will depend on the availability of the medical result and fingerprinting. In addition, you may be required to present your passport.

Is it possible to obtain residency in Qatar?

There are four criteria that all foreign nationals residing in Qatar must meet in order to apply for permanent residency in Qatar:

The first is that you must have been in the country for at least 20 years. If the person was born in Qatar, it must have been in the country for 10 years in order to obtain permanent residency.

Secondly, the person must have a basic salary of between 20,000 and 30,000 QR in order to prove that it has sufficient financial resources to support itself and other dependents.

Thirdly, the applicant must have demonstrated good conduct during its time in the country and lastly, the applicant must be fluent in the Arabic language.
