Qatar Family Visit Visa

Like other countries, Qatar requires all its visitors to present a visa to guarantee their stay in the country.

In this regard, there are different types of visas depending on the reason for which the person has decided to travel to the country (tourism, work, studies).

However, in addition to these, there is a family visit visa that is issued to those people who receive the visit of their relatives in Qatar.

Requirements to apply for a Qatar family visit visa

Before proceeding to mention the requirements to apply for a Qatar family visit visa, it is necessary to clarify that this process is currently only available for spouse, children and parents.

Having said that, lets take a look at the list of requirements that you will need to fulfil in order to apply for a family visit visa for spouse and children:

• Copy of the applicant's Qatar ID.
• Copy of passport of spouse and children.
• Birth certificate of the children
• Notarized marriage certificate
• Letter of no objection from employer specifying profession and salary.
• Employment contract
• Copy of company card
• Return flight tickets
• Insurance policy

In addition to this, the person applying for this visa must have a minimum monthly income of 5 thousand QR equivalent to 1,373 dollars.

In case you wish to obtain a family visit visa for a newborn child, you must present the following documents:

• Passport of the newborn.
• Original birth certificate
• Passport photographs
• Copy of the residence permit of the person applying for the visa, as well as a copy of the visa of the newborn's mother.

On the other hand, when it is time to apply for a family visit visa for relatives other than spouse, children or parents, you must meet the following requirements:

• Copy of your ID card
• Copy of the family member's passport.
• Copy of your spouse's ID in case you are a resident.

How to apply for a family visit visa for Qatar online

Here are the steps to follow in order to apply for a Qatar family visit visa:

The first thing you need to do is to download and install the metrash2 app on your iOS or Android smartphone.

Once you have done this, open the app and wait for its interface to launch; enter the requested data to log in.

Once logged in click on the icon identified with the Visa option.

This will take you to another screen where you will have to click on the icon identified with the option Issue Visa and then select the option Family Visit.

From the drop-down menu select the Family Visa Application option.

Following this click on the New application option; this will bring up a series of fields that you will need to fill in with the personal details of the family member (gender, relationship, date of birth, etc.).

Once you have done this, click on the option I accept the validity of the data to proceed to the next stage in which you will see the option Upload the visitor's documents.

Clicking on this option will open a window in which you will have to find and upload a digital version of the family member's birth certificate, as well as a copy of the passport. Make sure that the scanned documents are clear and legible.

Then click on the Next button and confirm the upload of all documents.

After you have completed the procedure, you will have to wait a few days to receive an application number with which you can proceed to the next step which is the payment of the fee. If any documents are missing you will receive a notification.

When paying the fees, you can do this from the Metrash2 app. After making the payment the next step is to go to the Qatar Ministry of Interior website, download the copy of the visa and send it to the family member.

Applying for the Qatar family visit visa in person

In case you do not wish to apply for a family visit visa online, you can go to the Qatari Ministry of Interior.

The first thing you will need to do is click HERE to download the family visit visa application form and print it.

Once you have done this, fill in the form with the requested data and go with this document to the Ministry of Interior office.

When you are there, the person in charge of receiving your application will instruct you to meet with the official who will have the final decision on the approval of the family visit visa.

The officer will ask you a series of questions about the purpose of the family visit.

If convincing, the official will give you a receipt on which you will find a link to a page where you will have to access to check the status of your Qatar family visit visa online. You will have to wait two working days to do this.

After your family visit visa has been approved, the next thing you will need to do is to visit the Ministry of Interior office again and present the receipt.

After this you will need to pay the visa fee, either at the MOI office or via the Metrash2 app.

Once you have done this you will be given a printed copy of the family visit visa. After this, you will only need to book the flight tickets for your visiting family members.

Insurance for Qatar Family Visit Visa

One thing you should know before embarking on the adventure of applying for a family visit visa is that persons entering the country on a family visit visa must first obtain medical insurance to cover them for the duration of their visit to Qatar, in accordance with the decree of 1 February 2023. The premium for this health insurance will be 50 QR per month.

So, people applying for a family visit visa through the Ministry of Interior or the Metrash2 app will be redirected to the website of the Ministry of Public Health.

Once there you will need to choose one of the insurance companies registered with this ministry so that you can then proceed to purchase a visitor's policy.

Once the health insurance policy has been issued to you by the chosen insurance company the Ministry of Interior will proceed to issue the family visit visa.

It should be noted that the effective date of the insurance cover will commence from the date the person enters the country at any of the borders of Qatar.

In case the person wishes to extend its stay in the country must apply for a new insurance policy.
