Kuwait Travel Ban Check

Among the countries of the Middle East, Kuwait is one that has a great variety of interesting places to visit.

However, before you pack your bags and start your trip to Kuwait, it is necessary to check that you do not have a travel ban to this country or know how to check it in case any eventuality arises that merits it. In this post we will give you the steps to check if you have a travel ban to Kuwait.

What is a travel ban?

Travel bans refer to a legal act applied by the government of Kuwait to all those people who have incurred in any fault within its territory and are in litigation for this cause.

Thus, travel bans can be imposed as a measure against any type of civil, criminal or any other action that represents a violation of the immigration rules. Once the situation that triggered the travel ban is resolved, it will be lifted.

Causes of Kuwait Travel Bans

When going into details about the reasons that may trigger the application of a travel ban by the Kuwaiti government, these may be diverse.

One of them is that the person is involved in a financial dispute with a business partner or a borrower.

It is also likely that this financial dispute is with the owner of a rental property or a landlord.

When a travel ban is associated with such a situation, it will be lifted after the person against whom the travel ban is imposed pays the court the amount of money owed.

Criminal investigations carried out on a person are another cause for the Kuwaiti government to apply a travel ban to prevent the person from leaving the country.

Individuals who violate their visa status by overstaying or performing a work activity without permission will also receive a travel ban.

It should be noted that these travel bans will not be lifted until the case is resolved. There are cases of persons who have a travel ban for violating an immigration rule but they are also in a deportation process.

On the other hand, persons residing in Kuwait from another country who are involved in litigation or investigations may have the opportunity to check if a travel ban has been applied to them for such situations by accessing the website of the Ministry of Interior; we will show you how to carry out this procedure later on.

In this regard, it is necessary to take into account that since there are several government agencies in Kuwait authorized to apply travel bans, not all of them are instantly registered in the database of the Ministry of Interior.

This makes that there are cases where the person does not find out that has a travel ban until the moment it tries to leave the country.

As mentioned above, the travel ban is cancelled only when the situation that caused it is resolved.

In case the person under the travel ban has to pay a specific amount of money to lift this sanction, it is likely that this process requires going to various government offices and courts in Kuwait in order to obtain the necessary approvals to enable this action.

Once you have complied with all the required steps and paid the fine, the travel ban will be revoked and you will again be free to leave or enter the country.

Another consequence of the travel ban is to prevent the person from entering the country for the same reasons described above in order to avoid leaving the country.

This may happen in the case that the person concerned has previously traveled to Kuwait and entered by commercial air and at the time of leaving the country did so by military air without going through the exit control.

If so, the person will appear in the immigration system as still remaining in the country and overstayed, so that when it travels back to the country and tries to enter it may be detained by the officials.
